Cookie Policy
This page explains exactly which cookies this website sets, what they are for, and how to change your mind. It describes what the site actually does — if you find anything here that does not match what you observe, we would like to know.
Nothing is set until you accept
When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Until you choose Accept analytics, this website sets no cookies and makes no request to Google at all. Declining is not a request that is sent and ignored — nothing is sent.
Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage under the name
dmg-consent. That is not a cookie. We use local storage
precisely so that refusing cookies does not itself require setting one.
What is set if you accept
If you accept, we load Google Analytics 4. It sets these cookies on your device:
| Cookie | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Distinguishes one visitor from another, so repeat visits are not counted as new people. | 2 years |
_ga_YHPF64F5LX | Keeps track of a single visit, so pages viewed in one sitting are grouped together. | 2 years |
The expiry periods are Google’s defaults. Google can change them, and if we
notice that happen we will update this page.
What Google receives
We use Google Analytics to see which pages are read and how people arrive — nothing
more. We do not run advertising tracking, we do not build profiles of individuals,
and we do not sell or share this data.
We should be straight about one thing: this data is not anonymous. Google receives an
identifier for your browser, your approximate location derived from your network
address, and technical details such as your device and browser. We cannot use that to
put a name to you, and we do not try — but calling it anonymous would overstate it.
Google Analytics also records certain interactions automatically: scrolling, clicks on
links leaving this site, file downloads, video engagement and site search.
It does not track the enquiry form. We turned that off deliberately.
Google is not told that you started or sent an enquiry, and it never receives what you
typed — your enquiry goes by email and is described in the
Privacy Policy.
Where this data goes
Google processes analytics data on infrastructure outside the United Arab Emirates,
including in the United States. Accepting analytics means accepting that transfer.
If you would rather it did not happen, decline — the website works exactly the same
either way, and nothing on it is withheld from you.
Changing your mind
Select Cookie settings at the foot of any page to reopen the banner
and choose again. If you decline after having accepted, we stop loading Google
Analytics immediately. Cookies already set are not removed by that choice — you can
clear those in your browser, which also works without asking us.
Blocking or clearing cookies in your browser settings works too, and takes precedence
over anything on this site.
